Street people in the UK

The Guardian, 16 March 2005, has an article about homelessness in Britain.

In 1998, Alexander Masters met Stuart begging in a shop doorway in Cambridge; Masters has written a book about Stuart.

Stuart is a sociopathic, rough-sleeping beggar who suffers from muscular dystrophy.

Stuart would say that 'the system' raped him as a child in special schools, injected him full of mind-terminating drugs in detention centres, then beat him senseless in quasi-military boot camps and solitary confinement cells whenever he showed violence back.
