It is located at 64 Via Capodimonte, Anacapri, Capri 80071, Italia.

Capri is where Roman Emperors liked to stay. Rome is where you will find the world famous Villa San Michele.

Nona: CAPRI, BRONZED BOYS AND GRAHAM GREENE

Villa Le Scale was built in the early 19th century and was lived in by the Barons Monti Della Corte.

The present owner is an antiquarian and art collector.

Villa Le Scale is on the same small lane as Villa San Michele.

Avignon

This is an attractive walled, medieval city.

In the 14th century, the popes lived in Avignon rather than in Rome.

The Hôtel d'Europe is a good place to stay.

Address: 12 pl. Crillon, Avignon 84000, France.

Napoléon stayed here. This is a vine-covered 16th-century home, near the Papal Palace.

Imagine a walled court, tapestries and antiques.

The restaurant, La Vieille Fontaine, is top class.
